The Mission
At Creek+Elm, we design pieces that turn heads, spark compliments, and remind you that yes- you DO look amazing. Our rustic-boho inspired statement earrings are subtle enough for everyday wear yet striking enough to never blend in. Made from sustainable, light-as-air materials like cork and walnut, our earrings are as kind to your ears- and mother earth- as they are beautiful.
The Story
I didn’t start Creek+Elm because I love earrings. I started it because I needed to feel like myself again.
Hi, I’m Emily Brewer, the founder of Creek+Elm. And in 2019, anxiety was taking over my life. Panic attacks. ER visits. The kind of struggle you can’t always see from the outside. If you’ve been there you know. If you haven’t- consider yourself lucky. And if you’re going through it right now? Please- talk to someone. It does get better.
But…back to the story. I found myself watching a lot of HGTV in those days because that (and sitting on my couch crafting to keep my hands busy) was about all I COULD do. And I saw Joanna Gaines (my spirit animal) wearing a pair of earrings that made my heart flutter. They were a little bit rustic, and a little bit boho. Just my style. I thought to myself, “maybe I can make some earrings like that!”
After some experimenting, I made myself a pair. Then another. And then something strange happened. People noticed. Complimented me. Asked me where I got them. Asked me if I could make THEM a pair.
And that was the start. The start of feeling seen again. The thing with anxiety is that you feel like you're disappearing, kind of slowly melting away like the witch in the Wizard of Oz.
After everything I’d been through- feeling that way was a big deal. And that’s when I realized, maybe other women needed earrings that would make them feel seen too.
Not giant, gaudy earrings that give you a headache. Not fast fashion made in some unknown factory overseas. And not trendy jewelry that just. doesn’t. feel. like. you.
Just something pretty. Something light. Something a little wild. Something that makes you feel like you again. Something that makes you feel seen and says “I’m still here! I’m not JUST a mom. I’m not JUST a wife. I’m also a WOMAN. A woman with dreams I have yet to fulfill, a boho soul that still wants to explore everything this world has to offer, and a spark that refuses to be lost in carpools and grocery lists. I’m still here- and I’m not done yet!”
Can an earring really say all that? Well…our mission at Creek+Elm is to try.
To create pieces that remind you who you are- not who the world tells you to be. To make earrings that feel handcrafted, soulful, and light enough to wear through EVERY season (even the hard ones- especially the hard ones).
And to help women everywhere feel seen, beautiful, and a little more like themselves again.
Because sometimes even the smallest thing- like a pair of earrings- is exactly what you need to remind you:

The Earrings
When I started experimenting with making earrings, I knew what I DIDN’T want. No leather. Nothing heavy.
So I started searching. Eventually I settled on cork- a beautiful, sustainable material that’s feather-light and full of texture. It took time, but eventually I found a partner who imports cork from Portugal and prints the patterns I love (and even custom patterns I help design).
And the designs continue to evolve. I added reclaimed walnut-wood- because it’s strong, stunning, and surprisingly lightweight. Each wooden piece is finished by a local woodworker. No factories. No shortcuts.
Most of our earrings still begin in our workshop, and get precision cut in our garage with a laser. Then they’re finished by hand using hypoallergenic, light, and extremely durable stainless steel hardware.
No two batches exactly the same (that’s the beauty of cork), it’s not the fastest way to make jewelry. But it’s the one that feels right. And it’s the reason Creek+Elm earrings feel so different…
